Are you feeling stuck in your creative life? Need a little clarity in making a decision? Cultivate an experimental mindset.
You might enjoy my free mini-course on cultivating an experimental mindset, first created in 2017, but now available on Youtube! Below, you’ll find video one, subscribe to my channel here for videos two and three of Get Started, Get Going where you’ll learn:
- The core emotional habits for feeling confident when making big decisions
- What perspectives and practices can alleviate the pressure of perfectionism
- How to choose your life’s purpose and cultivate personal power
- How to build positive energy and momentum around new challenges
Together, we go through an 8-step transformation from indecision and procrastination to feeling confident and taking worthwhile risks through an experimental mindset.
STEP 1: Step into productive habits and mindsets.
STEP 2: Accept bold decision-making as a power.
STEP 3: Know that you can’t get life wrong.
STEP 4: Cultivate clarity through non-judgment and compassion.
STEP 5: Choose fun and curiosity over fear and limitations.
STEP 6: Start where you are, with what you have.
STEP 7: Transform thought into action.
STEP 8: Choose your first experiment.
When making big decisions in your life and business, choose wisely by starting with where you are what you have, and take action. When you take on an experimental mindset, it’s Ok to start off generally, with the basics, and become a master of the finer arts later. It’s Ok to be in breakdown and rebuild mode where your focus might be on healing and nothing else. Wherever you’re at is just right. We need to cultivate safe environments to explore the unknown. We must be the safe place to fall for our big adventures, and if cultivating that safe place inside of you is where you need to begin.
Life is short and we have much to explore, you can’t go wrong with making a fundamental topic of interest your focus and narrowing down the focus as you go. Start broad, stay dedicated, and keep yourself open to learning and taking on new challenges (the very core of living with an experimental mindset). If you’ve already explored a broad topic, and can narrow it down to begin with, good for you! Start with where you are and what you have.
This journey we are on is full of opportunity if we open our eyes to what is right in front of us. We don’t have to try too hard to create meaning – we fill our days and our minds with it through action and choosing our perspective. Let go of judgment, and suspend believing in fear, long enough to honestly brainstorm a list of things you want to bring into your life in some form. It could be a list of personal development topics, a list of feelings and states of being you want to cultivate, or a list of business topics you want to explore and become an expert in.
